Planning consent achieved for 607 units in Southampton
1st November 2022
The former Debenhams store, vacant since the demise of the department store in 2020, will be demolished to make way for the delivery of 607 units following the issuance of the decision notice pursuant to the scheme on 23rd October after a successful planning committee on 20th September.
The scheme will deliver 598 no. flats, 9 no. townhouses and a public plaza serving to revitalise an underutilised part of the town centre. The tallest building at the site will measure 17 storeys and will overlook the Central Parks.
Continuum provided advice pertaining to the financial viability and the S106 agreement for the proposed scheme on behalf of Southampton Estates. National and Regional were development managers, DPP UK planning agents and Hodder + partners provided architectural services.
